Here, birdy birdy! I love that it’s spring in the Hudson Valley and a lot of our favorite, wild life friends have returned. It’s so soothing to hear the birds chirping and to see them just as happy as we are with the warm weather and sunshine!
Which States Do Your Favorite Birds Reside In?
The Old Farmers Almanac is always posting fun and informative content on their social media. I enjoy seeing their posts as it relates to nature, animals, gardening and more.
Recently, they made a post on social media highlighting each state's official bird. This was fun to read through and learn about. Besides New York, there may be other states that you enjoy visiting and want to see their official bird.
For instance, I love California and learned that their state bird is the California Quail. Florida is another state that I enjoy visiting and their official bird is the Northern Mockingbird, according to the Old Farmers Almanac.

New Jersey has the American Goldfinch as their state bird. Pennsylvania's state bird is Ruffed Grouse, according to the Old Farmers Almanac.

Its possible that you have noticed the Eastern Bluebird in your yard. The next time that you see this cutie, be sure to congratulate it and its family for being the official bird of New York state, haha!
In addition to the Eastern Bluebird, maybe you have also noticed the beautiful Blue Jays and Northern Cardinals. The Black-capped Chickadees are absolutely adorable and Tufted Titmouse is a cutie too.

I have learned about birds within New York state through books or when I see them, I google who it is exactly. There is also a helpful app called Merlin Bird ID which allows bird lovers to identify birds easily.
