Looking for some spooky fun for the whole family this Halloween season?

Sleepy Hollow is the place to be!

Spooky Season in Sleepy Hollow is Unmatched

When you think of Halloween in New York or spooky legends and lore, your first thought it probably Sleepy Hollow. I mean does it get any better than The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and The Headless Horseman?

Thanks to Washington Irving for bringing to life the most iconic scary story, which some say is the first scary story ever published (you can read the original in Irving's The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent).

Once the fall season hits, Sleepy Hollow becomes a magnet for spooky season lovers.

Sleepy Hollow Halloween Season Events

There is no shortage of spooky events in Sleepy Hollow for the next few weeks. From now until November 3rd, you can enjoy the sight of 7,000 illuminated jack-o’ lanterns at The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze in Croton-on-Hudson.

If pumpkins aren't your thing, but ghosts are then you can check out the Tarrytown Music Hall Ghost Tour or the Sleepy Hollow Cemetary Tour.

A Peek Inside the Twilight Village at Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow

I recently visited the Twilight Village at Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow to get myself in the Halloween mindset.

My family and I enjoyed everything the market had to offer including a tarot card reader, Sleepy Hollow swag from the shops, creepy music from a local folk band, as well as the spooky stories and ambiance provided by Philipsburg Manor.

A ghostly figure appeared on stilts and greeted the crowd and after the stories were told and the night was about to wrap up, The Headless Horseman emerged from the darkness!

The crowd was told The Headless Horseman was pretty good at selfies. I guess Washington Irving left that part out of the original story...
