The Hudson Valley has a new one-way street in Orange County, and many people chimed in with their thoughts and opinions.

Wallkill Gets New One-Way Road As of Today

Today, via social media, the Town of Shawangunk announced a new traffic pattern for a portion of Main Street. They have turned it into a one-way road. At noon today, the one-way traffic pattern was instated, and at the moment, it seems like most people who commented agreed it needed to be done.

The Town of Shawangunk posted:

Beginning June 6, 2025 at 12:00PM, Main Street between Wallkill Avenue and Church St is now a one-way road in from Wallkill Avenue to Church Street.

Many people commented on this becoming official: one person said they have lived on the road, and it was much needed; others stated that the side roads are all hard to turn out of due to visibility. And many feel that the signs are too small and people are going to go the wrong way.

The people worried that people won't notice might have a point being because in both pictures, there are cars parked the wrong way on Main Street even after the signs are up. However, maybe the photos were taken before the official flip at noon.
