New Addition to Fishkill, NY 9/11 Memorial Honors Police, Firefighters

A local police department has unveiled a new addition to their 9-11 Memorial on the National Day of Remembrance.

Remembering Those Who Lost Their Lives on 9-11-01

It has been 23 years since tragedy struck America when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in New York City, The Pentagon, and Stoystown, Pennsylvania.

Over 3,000 lives were lost on 9/11 including 2,753 in New York City alone. In the years following the attacks, towns across America dedicated many memorials to those lives lost including here in the mid-Hudson region.

One local police department has announced a new addition to its 9/11 memorial.

New Addition to Fishkill, NY 9/11 Memorial Honors Police, Firefighters

The Town of Fishkill Police Department shared the newest addition to their 9/11 memorial on social media. The Town of Fishkill Highway Department collaborated with A Line Striping and  AKZ Sealcoating-Veteran Owned "to incorporate this tribute for our fallen brothers and sisters into our newly paved and striped town parking lot."

In the parking lot of The Town of Fishkill Police Department at 801 State Route 52 in Fishkill, visitors will see a "thin blue line" and "thin red line," in honor of the police and firefighters who sacrificed it all on that fateful day."

They also added a "thin white line" to pay "homage to the emergency medical services, who tirelessly worked to save countless lives." You can learn more about the newest addition to the memorial below:

Honoring Local Hudson Valley Residents Who Lost Their Lives on 9/11

The Town of Fishkill Police Department along with many other municipalities across the Hudson Valley will be holding memorials for those lives lost on September 11th, 2001.

Over 3,000 people lost their lives on that tragic day. Due to the close proximity of NYC to the Hudson Valley, many residents commuted to their jobs in Manhattan that day.
