A True War Hero on Display at The New York Air Show
This week, the New York Air Show announced a special addition to their line-up this year.
The legendary C-47 "Placid Lassie" will be on static display at the 2024 Air Dot Show Tour in Montgomery. According to the New York Air Show, the Placid Lassie is a "true war hero" that was built in 1943.
The Placid Lassie played a "critical role during World War II" as the Air Show explains it flew during the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944. The Air Show writes:
Unlike many restored warbirds, "Placid Lassie" is the real deal—these very rivets crossed the English Channel and helped shape history.
You can learn more about the Placid Lassie and "honor the legacy of the brave crews who flew her" on August 10th and 11th at the Orange County Airport in Montgomery, New York.
