Creative Hudson Valley Bagel Wins at New York Bagel Festival
Winner, winner bagel dinner! A popular Hudson Valley bagel spot won big at a bagel celebration over the weekend.
Hudson Valley Couple Creates Mouthwatering Stuffed Bagels
If you've never heard of Moonrise Bagels, you're missing out big time. Ali Chetkof and Jeremy Rhodes first started making stuffed bagels for their friends and their community in 2020.
While everyone was in lockdown baking bread, Ali and Jeremy were perfecting a stuffed bagel. First, they stuffed bagels with pizza ingredients, which were a hit with friends and family. After a short time, a business closed in their Woodstock, New York neighborhood.
So they moved in and Moonrise Bagels took off like a rocket. They now ship to all 50 states and have been featured on The Today Show.
Moonrise now has stuffed bagel options like Bacon, Egg and Cheese, Buffalo Chicken, Pastrami Reuben, Eggplant Parm, a vegan option and so many more.
Popular Bagel Company Opens Second Location in Dutchess County
After much success with the Moonrise Bagel location in Woodstock, New York it made perfect sense that a 2nd Moonrise Bagel was in the future.
In early 2024, Moonrise Bagel announced their second location would open in the Heritage Plaza in Poughkeepsie, New York across the street from Marist College.
Then in July of 2024, Ali and Jeremy officially opened the Poughkeepsie location. On the opening day of Moonrise Poughkeepsie, they sold out of their bagels in just a few hours.
Safe to say, Moonrise Bagels is a hit in Dutchess County too.
Moonrise Bagels Wins at Huge New York Bagel Festival
Of course, Ali and Jeremy had to bring their delicious creations to the big BagelFest this past weekend in Queens, New York.
BagelFest took over Citi Field for what they call the 'World's Biggest Bagel Celebration" where guests sample and vote on the "best artisan bagels in the world." Over 40 bagel businesses took part in the festival including Moonrise Bagel of the Hudson Valley.
After the festivities of the day were over, BagelFest shared the big winners of the day.
And wouldn't you know it. . . Moonrise Bagel left a winner!
According to BagelFest, Moonrise Bagel took home the prize for Most Creative Bagel.
Congratulations to Ali, Jeremy, and the Moonrise Bagel team!
