Some of Hollywood's most beloved and successful stars were born and raised in New York State. But did you know there are also a ton of celebrities who graduated from New York colleges?

If you're from New York and you had plans to go to college, it's very likely that at least one SUNY (State University of New York) school was on your application list. Well, there are 14 pretty notable celebrities who were in the same boat.

How Many SUNY Schools Are There in New York?

Currently, there are 64 different SUNY schools for students in New York to pick from. When I was applying to colleges, a bulk of my picks were SUNY schools. With the price of college tuition exponentially increasing each year, my parents really supported the SUNY route.

According to Education Data, the average cost of attending a state university in 2023 was a little over $26,000 per year. In comparison, the average cost of attending a private institution in 2023 was around $56,000 per year.

With SUNY schools earning more and more positive accolades regarding their programs, it's no surprise why so many opt for the SUNY route.
