Authorities Now Investigating Fatal Wappingers One Car Crash

At this time, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash in the Town of Wappinger that occurred on Wednesday October 2nd, around 6:20pm. The incident only involved one vehicle.

One Car Fatal Crash in Town of Wappinger

Local authorities have indicated that at this time, speed appears to be a factor in the Town of Wappinger crash that claimed the life of a 23-year-old Poughkeepsie man.

At approximately 6:20pm on Wednesday October 2nd, Dutchess County Deputies responded to All Angels Hill Road near Dugan Lane following the report of a serious crash. The preliminary investigation and subsequent reports indicate that a 2007 Infiniti sedan vehicle with a total of five occupants was traveling south on All Angels Hill Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

It appears that when the operator lost control, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

23-Year-Old Poughkeepsie Resident Killed In Wappinger Crash

Upon arrival at the scene, Deputies found that the rear passenger-side occupant, later identified as Yanique M. Jackson, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, had life threatening injuries. Jackson was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, and sadly, later pronounced dead. The other occupants of the vehicle were transported to other area hospitals with 'what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.'

Local residents shared on several social media and community based platforms that helicopter response was required at the scene of the accident.

In addition to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, New York State Police, Village of Wappingers Falls Police, New Hackensack Fire Department, Hughsonville Fire Department, East Fishkill Fire Department, and Empress Ambulance were also on scene.
