There are many serious and even life-or-death situations that local police departments across the Hudson Valley train for. Then there's the event that happened last week in Greene County.

Recently, the Catskill Police Department shared a police chase unlike any other. While the subject was certainly fast, they weren't driving a vehicle of any kind... and they gave police a serious run for their money.

As the video caption also shares, while the officer was able to protect the dog from other vehicles, they weren't able to safely capture the fast-footed pet. Luckily, a relative of the owner chimed in through the comment section to provide a happy ending.

"That’s my father’s dog, Benji!!", the comment read. "Thank you to the officer who kept him safe!!! We appreciate it so much and are happy to say that he was reunited with my father a little while later that day, luckily!!". Check out some more heartwarming Hudson Valley animal rescues below.
