Starbucks New ‘Bear Cup’ Craze Has People Going Wild
It's happening again...
Remember a few years back when social media decided that everyone needed a Stanley cup and people went a little nutty trying to get their hands on the latest release? There were people camping outside stores, fights in local Target locations, all for a cup, a vessel in which you consume your favorite beverage....well, a new cup has entered the chat.
REMEMBER WHEN: The Hudson Valley Has Gone Stupid for Stanley!
Starbucks Announces 'Bearista Cup'
Back at the beginning of October, when releasing the information about their upcoming holiday items including ornaments, a full lineup of cups, mugs and tumblers, one of the things that immediately got people talking was the Starbucks 'Bearista Cold Cup.'
A $29.95 glass cold cup was marketed to 'bring joy to every sip,' and boasted that 'from cold brew to an iced matcha latte, your drinks have never looked cuter.'
The most magical time of the year launched at Starbucks on November 6th, with a limited-time, while supplies last run of releases...and then the crazy started.

Brawls, Frenzies and Chaos over 'Bearista' Cup
The Wall Street Journal called it 'the cup that's causing brawls,' NBC reports that the 'Bearista cup has caused frenzies.' and Fox Business has aired coverage of Starbucks issuing an apology over the 'chaos' that the cup launch has caused.
While news outlets across the US have shared that people lined up outside their local Starbucks locations hours before stores opened, it should come as no surprise that the limited stock was sold out before many customers were even able to get in the door. Some reports indicated that the first few people in line wiped out the supply, while others shared that some stores only had one or two cups, alleging that employees purchased before the public was able to buy.
A preliminary Facebook Marketplace search showed the current closest option for a new Bearista Cup for $300 in Hempstead, NY. The 'For Sale Hudson Valley' Facebook group has a pair available for $500. On Ebay, there is one listed 'for pickup within 15 miles of Wappingers Falls' for $299.88.
Did any Hudson Valley'ers manage to get one, and how were you able to score the must have item of the year?
