
Horse with Special Needs Reportedly Stolen in New York
New York State Police are asking the public for help after they say a horse with special needs was taken from its owner's pasture in upstate New York.
While horse theft certainly feels like something more likely seen on an episode of Yellowstone 1883 than in present-day New York, authorities are nonetheless answering the call to help find the animal.
Horse Allegedly Stolen in Upstate New York
The horse, named Koda, has several unique markings that should make him easily identifiable, with two separate brands (above) and a coat color described as "flea-bitten white". There's also a special factor that makes Koda's owners especially anxious to reunite.
Koda the Horse Is Missing
"Have you seen Koda?", the NYSP asked in a recent Facebook post (below). Authorities shared that in addition to being missing, the horse requires a special diet in order to remain in good health.
Missing and Stolen Animals in New York State
While there have certainly been missing animals in New York, including some rather peculiar cases (like this giant lizard), stolen animals, including livestock like Koda, is a much rarer occurrence.
