How to Help Hudson Valley Child Still Fighting Leukemia
Once again, the Hudson Valley community is coming together to help a young girl and her family, and it's not too late to join.
A cancer diagnosis is devastating for anyone, but it's news that no parents should ever receive about their child. Now, Orange County, NY residents are using creative ways to help support a fellow family going through that exact scenario.

A 2024 trip to the doctor for a fever turned into something far more serious when Lilly Fernandez finally received a diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Luckily, their hometown of Chester, NY immediately sprang into action.
GoFundMe Fundraiser for Family of Lilly Fernandez
A GoFundMe page was setup to help the Fernandez family through their challenging time, but that was only just the beginning. Over the following months, different community organizations helped in their own unique ways.

Through outside fundraisers and the current GoFundMe campaign, thousands of dollars have already been raised (a Make a Wish trip to Disney World was a massive success as well). While Lilly is currently in a "maintenance phase" for her treatments, there is still a fight ahead.
The next community event is a fundraising event from 1pm to 5pm at Tequila Grille at 63 Still Road in Monroe, NY with a 50/50 raffle, tricky trays, and more. Hudson Valley residents who can't attend the event are still encouraged to visit Lilly's GoFundMe page.
