Our New Favorite Christmas Tradition…Eggbert After Dark

Not many people can say that they live in an area that is known for a famous talking 'Christmas egg' - but here we are, proud to be Hudson Valley'ers where Devitt's Nursery & Supply's Eggbert is one of our biggest claims to fame.

Christmas on the Farm with Eggbert (and now his lady friend Claire) has been a holiday tradition here in the area as long as I can remember, as my parents brought us there as kids, and now I've made it part of our annual celebration with my own child. These days, though, a visit with Eggbert isn't just for the kids, in fact, there may be a side to Eggbert you've yet to experience...

Eggbert After Dark Returns

After talking with hundreds of Hudson Valley kids day after day each holiday season, i'm sure that Eggbert is yearning for some adult conversation, and that's just what you'll get if you visit Newburgh Brewing Company on December 22nd.

Way back in 2017, Eggbert has made the short voyage from his home at Devitt's Nursery & Supply in New Windsor to the taproom at Newburgh Brewing Company, and with the exception of 2020, has made this an annual tradition for a special night of 'adult only' laughs and antics.

Paul Halayko, Newburgh Brewing Company owner shared his thoughts on the upcoming event:

What happens when you unleash Eggbert? When you let him tell the adults what he REALLY thinks? Well that’s “Eggbert After Dark”, one of the signature events in the brewery’s calendar. He spent the entire Christmas season talking to kids. Now he wants the chance to tell all the adults what he REALLY thinks of them. But all kidding aside, it’s a fun night for adults to get to relive their childhood by chatting with Eggbert and taking photos with him. No reservations and no admission fee. Just come eat, drink, and talk to Eggbert!

So, before the insanity of the Christmas holidays begin, take some time for you, get a sitter for the kids, and make plans to visit with Eggbert at Newburgh Brewing on Monday December 22nd 4-10pm. There will be photo ops with Eggbert the entire time, and he'll be doing his talking 7-9pm, so brace yourself for a zing or too.
